A: The suffix ‘-ly’. Using ‘-ly’ changes adjectives into adverbs, ‘sad’ becomes ‘sadly’ and ‘perfect’ becomes ‘perfectly’.  ‘-ly’ also describes how something or how often something is done, as in ‘quickly’ or ‘carefully’.

B: The soft ‘c’.  When the letter c is followed by an i, e or y, it makes an ‘s’ sound.
