A.  Word Stress:   In words with more than one syllable, one syllable is stressed.
     
I. Listen and circle the syllable that is stressed. 

II. Listen and read the sentences, circle the syllable that should be stressed for each chosen word.

1.  I really love listening to Christmas mu-sic.
2.  We always go to school to-ge-ther in the morning.
3.  I bought a new com-pu-ter for myself.
4.  I need to buy a new te-le-vi-sion too.
5.  I pro-mise I won’t be late for school again.

B.  The Silent ‘t” sound.  Examples:  ballet, catch or fasten.
