Double Consonants: A double consonant is a consonant that is repeated in a word and it makes the vowel before it a short vowel sound.

Eg:  tapped, dinner and robbed   (first vowel in each word in a short vowel sound)
taped ,  diner   and  robed      (now the first vowel is a long vowel sound)

Double consonant story - circle all the double consonant words while reading the story.

Tommy didn’t like swimming or running. He only liked playing video games while eating pizza. He was fatter than all of his friends who were all much thinner than him. Tommy decided to get fitter. Now he eats carrots while playing video games. He needs to do more!
