A Supportive Learning Environment at NPGPS for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students

At NPGPS, we strive to build a campus with communal-harmony for all pupils. We welcome pupils with different family backgrounds, nationalities or ethnic groups to join in. NCS pupils at NPGPS enjoy both learning and building up friendships with other pupils. Although NPGPS is a Chinese as medium of instruction (CMI) school, NCS pupils receive support in learning to read and write Chinese, as well as speaking Cantonese. Supportive measures to NCS pupils are as follow: Pull-out Chinese lessons

• After-school Chinese-learning support classes
• Interest groups such as Community Youth Club, traditional ink wash classes, Western musical instruments classes etc.
• Peer-reading of groups at recess (Suspended during Policy of Social distancing)
• Nomination to NCS programmes in the community

為非華語 (NCS) 學生提供適切支援的學習環境

北角官立小學致力營造一個和諧融洽的校園。我們歡迎不同家庭背景、國籍或種族的學生加入。我們的NCS學生不但喜歡在學校學習，他們亦享受與其他學生建立友誼。雖然 NPGPS 是一所以中文為教學語言 (CMI) 的學校，但我們亦為非華語學生在學習讀寫中文以及說粵語方面提供適切支援。支援非華語學生的措施如下：

• 中文抽離課堂
• 中文課後班
• 各類興趣班，例如公益少年團、水墨畫班、西洋樂器班等
• 「大哥哥大姐姐」小息伴讀小組（在社交距離政策實行期間暫停）
• 提名學生參與社區舉辦的中文小組
